Exploring Arts Wheel 6th Grade
The Exploring Arts Wheel includes 6 weeks each of Visual Art, Drama, and Dance. When students complete the six weeks in Visual Arts, they will gain basic knowledge in the elements of art, develop skills in drawing, painting, printmaking and other media, and discuss famous artists.
Visual Arts 7th Grade
Students are introduced to the elements of art and principles of design. Composition, problem solving, risk-taking, and creative thinking are areas of emphasis. Students gain an appreciation for a variety of 2D and 3D media and processes like drawing, painting, printmaking, crafts, sculpture, and design while creating original works of art. Students also practice the skills to critique and evaluate artwork, maintain an art journal, and participate in class discussions about the nature/purpose of art.
I follow both National Art Standards and North Carolina Essential Standards when developing my lessons.
