This is my 29th year as a visual art teacher. I received my B.A. in Art and Sociology with certifications in K-12 Arts Education and Secondary Sociology from University of Richmond.

I taught elementary art for 4 years in Rappahannock, Virginia before moving to San Antonio, Texas and teaching middle school art and theatre for 4 years. While in Texas, I obtained my Secondary Theatre Arts certification.

I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1997 where I've taught Visual Art, Art & Music Appreciation, Yearbook, and most recently Media/Digital Arts in the middle school setting.   In addition to teaching art, I lead students in making the props, set, and costumes for our annual school musicals and Show Choir, and guide our award-winning North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities Art Showcase and Scholastic Art + Writing artists.

I am married and have a 14 year old son who is a freshman at Providence High School.  I have 2 cats named Yin and Yang.  My husband and I co-own a photography business where I spend a lot of time photographing and editing  portraits and special events.  I enjoy traveling, attending cultural events, going to movies, and reading.

I am renewing my National Board Certification this year!

Most importantly, I LOVE art...all kinds! I love looking at it, making it, and teaching it to middle schoolers.
